The case for honest timber
This is also the time to check your vacuum’s tools and accessories.
Unlike many vacuums, Shark Lift-Away vacuums have two lids for emptying the different sections of the cup. Many owners don’t realise they need to use both lids to fully empty the vacuum..
Check your manual for your machine’s specific instructions, but here’s the basic process for emptying a Shark Lift-Away:.Unplug the vacuum (always unplug a corded vacuum before performing any maintenance)..Remove the dust cup from the vacuum by pressing the button at the top of the main body and tilting the cup towards you..
Hold the dust cup over a bin and press the bottom release tab to allow the contents to fall into the bin.Give it a quick shake or tap to dislodge any stuck debris.. Now use the top release tab to open the top lid while holding the cup over the bin.
Again, give it a little shake or tap.
We find that hair sometimes gets caught around the metal shroud inside the second compartment of the Shark Lift-Away, so you may need to pull this out by hand (use gloves).. Close both of the lids and reattach the cup to the vacuum.. It’s a good idea to check the pre-motor filter when emptying the vacuum.Avoid sharp bends in your vacuum’s cord when storing it, as this can lead to loose connections over time.. 10.
Sharp objects are as menacing to your vacuum cleaner as they are to your bare feet..These sharp-edged or pointy objects can damage your vacuum cleaner in various ways, such as scratching its interiors, getting stuck in its pipes, or slicing open its bag..
Instead, use a broom to sweep up sharp objects and pick them up safely. For smaller shards, use a damp kitchen roll (make sure you wear gloves!).
